Barrel Organs in English Parish Churches
Dumb organist. Unfortunately it cannot be attached to the organ’s keyboard, and it is therefore unplayable. In 1957 it was loaned to the
Exhibition of Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century Barrel Organs held in St Martin’s, Ludgate Hill, London. It was used in 1958 when the
church was re-opened following restoration; to mark the occasion recordings were made by the BBC for inclusion in the radio programme
‘East Anglian Highlights’ broadcast 14 February 1958.
Two barrels x 7 tunes.
